MY English Blog from NICOLAS

We left Ugine on a warm Tuesday's evening. We slept in the bus and travelled to Calais. We crossed "La Manche" and arrived in Dover at 11:00 am. It was really windy and sunny. We visited Dover's castle, it is giant and old, it was beautiful. And after we ate our last French lunch bag with real cheese and smoked ham. In the afternoon, we tried cricket in Hastings, it was very funny. It's like baseball. In the evening we met our host family, the woman was kind, her son is a "geek" we didn't see him very often, he stayed in his bed room behind his TV. We ate deep-frozen pizza but no vegetables or fruits. The second day, we visited the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, it was the holiday's house of George III.It's a giant palace, the pavilion is an Indian architectural, inside there are every where some « chinoiserie » some chinese imitations . It was very impressive and fabulous. At lunch's time we ate lunch's bag, it wasn't nice and the sandwiches were not composed by ham, just butter and cheese. We stayed on the beach to play in the wind and the sun. For an hour we visited Brighton's Pier a big amusement park and casino. And in the evening we came back to our family. The next day, we went to London and we visited in London's street art with a guide. One artist painted on a chewing gum which was stick on the ground. FUNNY We should have gone to the British museum but we didn't time so we skipped it. In the after-noon we went shopping in Camden, CAMDEN IS GREAT .... it's a big neighborhood were we can shop low expensive items like souvenirs anythings. I was sad not to visit the British Museum. On the fourth day, we went to London too, and we visited the Imperial War Museum, behind the building, there is a huge barrel which is normaly on a war boat. Inside, there were a lot of war planes and vehicles, it was very cool, then we saw the « holocaust nazi ». It was a sad moment. We ate lunch in Serpentine park, and we walked in the London's street, we looked at Big Ben and Buckingham palace. And after, the most interesting activities for me was the orientation run in Hide park. I finished first with Anthony in my team. We received some gift for the win by the sport's teacher, it was nice. The fifth and last day we came back to Hastings to visited the smuggler's cave, they were very organized to escape the dragons of the United Kingdom's queen. And to wait at the lunch, we did a run with one feet attached to the foot of Matéo. This run was very funny. It was excellent, I will never forget it. And at the end of the after noon we went back to the ferry and back to France at night . We arrived in Ugine at 7:45 AM and went straight to Bed Nicolas H.G.
